LEARN . CREATE . ENJOY
What is Edutaste?
Edutaste are practical workshops that act as a guided tour through the workings of your everyday kitchen and how you can create basic simple meals that not only taste great, but are cost effective too.
We have been evolving over the past 24 months after a slow and cautious start, but we are now leaning into our passion for food, and helping children and young people develop culinary skills.
We still cater for the older generation and have suitable courses for food lovers, however we want to pass the knowledge on to the next generation, and give back to our communities through schools and academies.
These 1-2 hour sessions incorporate everything from budgeting to learning about individual requirements as well as foods that help you sustain a healthy lifestyle and ingredients that can help your body internally as well as externally.
Looking at alternatives that give the individual a better understanding of their own dietary requirement and how to cost effectively source the products.
We give you the skills...
We look at all the important things that come into play when cooking.
From the very basic health and hygiene to safety in the kitchen.
From cleaning to storage, cooking and understanding the different ways we can cook and prepare food.
We address alergens, bacteria, food waste as well as the correct disposal of unwanted debris that can clutter your cooking area and kitchen.

Independent Living

Giving individuals a chance to know what is best for them and for people around them if they decide to get creative in the kitchen.
Cooking is a skill that definitely helps with independence and also brings out the individual creativity in a person. Whether you're a resident in a semi- dependant childens home or a support worker or carer. Even if you are someone who is interested in upping their game in the kitchen , Edutaste can definitely assist you reaching your cooking potential.
Do I need experience?
There is no pressure and mistakes are what make us human. Learning and enjoying the journey is only half of the experience.
The the other half is about what the individual wants to acheive. Whether it's looking to prepare beans on toast for breakfast to a nice warm, hearty vegetable soup on a winters day ..the possibilities are in YOUR hands!
From gaining a health and hygiene certificate to creating a nutritious vegan dish and everything in between.
Edutaste is now focusing on helping schools and alternative provision academies support young people from all backgrounds through practical and unique cooking classes.

Who we work with
We originally wanted to work with SME’S and Children's homes as we felt there was a niche in the market for a service like ours, but after a few successful trials we decided to simplify our agenda. The pivot came when we looked more into education, specifically schools with alternative provisions and requirements for supporting children and young people who were struggling academically but have creative aspirations.
My brother always reminds me “you’re not Tequilla – you can’t make everyone happy."
I get it - and this is true, but we need to at least try to better the lives of the younger generation, and what better way than with the one thing that brings everyone together – FOOD!
We understand that our service is not for everyone, but we can have an initial conversation to see if we can help your students gain confidence, understanding, and social skills through cooking.
We obtained the relevant qualifications to approach schools and alternative provisions units/academies.
Our next step is to engage with the schools and academies that would be interested in what edutaste has to offer.
Feel free to get in contact at your earliest convenience.
Let's get cooking together!
Have fun, make friends & develop skills
Food is inherantly linked with socialising. By taking part in our workshops, not only are you learning some serious kitchen skills, you're also developing social skills too!
All whilst having fun!
